What you’ll do
At Nutreco, Trouw Nutrition, we are accelerating our transition toward a globally led organization with stronger central governance across our product portfolio. As part of this transformation, we are creating a new role: Global Category Leader – Mixed Products & Young Animal Feed (YAF).
This role will establish global ownership and governance over two diverse and strategic product areas: Mixed Products (including premix, farm mineral and concentrates) and Young Animal Feed (YAF). In addition, you will define and drive global category strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business and financials objectives. Establish governance frameworks, processes, and guidelines to create consistency across regions and business units, while bringing structure to a fragmented portfolio through harmonization of products, suppliers, and value propositions.
You will lead the optimization and rationalization of the portfolio while shifting the category from volume driven selling to outcome‑based value creation. Strong change management mindset is expected and influential skills for the coordination of support functions like procurement, R&D, Nutrition & Formulation Intelligence, digital and commercial teams, to strengthen Trouw Nutrition bundled positioning and value delivery (including products and digital services).
Reporting to the Product Marketing Director, the Category Lead for Mixed Products & YAF is responsible for turning a complex portfolio into a focused, value‑driven global category, with clear strategic choices, disciplined governance and strong regional execution.
The role also includes management of a small team of product managers.
This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can operate effectively in a complex, evolving environment.
Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate will bring structure, strategy, and governance to these categories, driving alignment across business units and regions.
You’ll also need:
Master's degree in Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field
Strong expertise in mixed products (premix, concentrates) is essential; YAF experience is a plus.
Proven experience in category management, product management, within animal nutrition, feed, or livestock industries.
Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate high-level direction into actionable plans.
Solid business & financial acumen, including pricing, margin management, and supplier negotiations
Proven experience with people management
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills; able to lead without full hierarchical authority
Strong analytical capabilities; able to synthesize large volumes of data into insights and actions
Experience operating in global, matrix organizations with multiple stakeholders.
Experience leading multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.
