Senior Production Planner

Job Description

Why Join Us

Get ready to Own your impact as a Senior Production Planner at Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company.

Guided by our purpose of Feeding the Future, you'll play a key role in ensuring our Ashbourne manufacturing operation delivers for customers across the poultry, ruminant, swine and pet nutrition sectors.

This is a high-impact planning role in a complex manufacturing environment where your decisions directly influence customer service, operational performance and working capital. You'll translate demand into robust, executable production plans while balancing capacity, labour, raw material availability, quality requirements and logistics constraints.

Working closely with Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, Quality, Formulation and Supply Chain teams, you'll help drive service excellence, manage risk and support informed decision-making across the business.

As a senior member of the planning team, you'll combine hands-on scheduling with data-led decision making, risk management, process governance and coaching. Your success will be measured by your ability to protect service levels, reduce avoidable downtime and changeovers, improve schedule adherence and enable better cross-functional decision making through the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.

Own your impact. Own your decisions. Own your success.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain robust, executable production plans that balance customer demand, manufacturing capacity, labour availability, raw materials, quality requirements, formulation needs, warehouse constraints and logistics capability.
  • Translate demand and confirmed customer requirements into clear production priorities, providing direction to Operations and ensuring plans remain achievable and aligned to business objectives.
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Demand Planning, Material Planning, Procurement, Formulation, Quality, Production, Warehouse, Transport and external supply points to coordinate activities and resolve planning challenges.
  • Monitor risks to the production plan, including material shortages, quality holds, equipment breakdowns, labour constraints, logistics disruptions and changes in customer demand, coordinating rapid replanning when required.
  • Support short, medium and long-term capacity planning by providing visibility of constraints, highlighting risks and opportunities, and contributing to the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle.
  • Protect customer service by balancing competing priorities and ensuring risks and trade-offs are visible and understood by stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate planning data, reporting and governance standards, using data and insights to improve schedule adherence, reduce inefficiencies, minimise avoidable downtime and support better business decisions.
  • Lead, coach and support a team of Production Planners, ensuring appropriate cover is in place while driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning effectiveness and operational performance.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a confident and collaborative planning professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing competing priorities to deliver results.

You'll likely bring:

  • Experience in production planning, supply planning or manufacturing scheduling.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working within a complex manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • The ability to translate customer demand into practical, executable production plans.
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions to influence outcomes and resolve challenges.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge constructively when required.
  • Experience identifying and managing operational risks while maintaining service levels.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for driving operational excellence.
  • Leadership experience, or experience managing and developing planners, would be advantageous.

What You'll Receive

As part of Nutreco, you'll be a member of the SHV family, a diverse group of companies with a global footprint. Join us and you'll gain access to a wide network of expertise, career opportunities and professional development.

In addition, you'll receive:

  • Competitive salary
  • Company pension scheme
  • Health cash plan
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Global career opportunities across Nutreco and SHV

How and Why to Find Out More

We can offer you a career with real purpose, where your contribution supports customers, colleagues and our mission of Feeding the Future. If you're looking for a role where you can make a visible impact, develop your expertise and help drive continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
