Why join us
Get ready to Own your career as a Quality Officer at Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company. As global leaders in animal nutrition and aquafeed, our shared purpose of Feeding the Future is making a positive global impact for generations to come. Join us in this impactful role and help deliver the production of feed, in a sustainable way to a growing population. Own your direction, Own your development and Own your path.
What you’ll do
You’ll own it by taking full accountability for day-to-day quality and food safety execution—inspecting raw materials, finished products, and the facility; verifying product, lot coding, packaging, and labels against customer, regulatory, and company requirements; reviewing LIMS/lab results and making release/hold decisions; and escalating risks quickly and clearly to plant leadership. You’ll drive follow-through on audits, line checks, complaints, and non-conformities by partnering directly with production on the floor to close corrective actions and keep documentation, monitoring plans, and certifications (FAMI-QS, SQF, Safe Feed/Safe Food) audit-ready.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a hands-on Quality Officer who will own it—someone who takes end-to-end accountability for food safety and quality on the plant floor, from raw material intake through finished product release. You bring at least 2 years of experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing and/or a lab environment (internal audit experience preferred), along with strong attention to detail, confidence reviewing data and LIMS/lab reports, and sound judgment to place product on hold or release. You’re comfortable working independently while partnering closely with production, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and stay organized in documentation and audit readiness. A college/associate degree is preferred, with SQF or other food quality certifications as an asset, and you’re willing to work in both office and plant settings.
You’ll also need
Food safety & quality systems experience: Minimum 2+ years in QA within food manufacturing and/or a laboratory environment, with practical understanding of quality programs and food safety requirements.
Audit & compliance capability: Experience supporting certifications (e.g., FAMI-QS, SQF, Safe Feed/Safe Food) and conducting/participating in internal audits, including managing corrective actions and non-conformities.
Technical and documentation skills: Strong competence with documentation control, report writing, and basic tools (MS Office); able to review and act on LIMS/lab results and maintain audit-ready records.
Analytical, detail-oriented decision-making: Proven ability to accurately analyze data, verify labels/lot codes/specs, and make sound release/hold decisions while escalating risks appropriately.
Strong on-floor collaboration & communication: Clear written/verbal communicator who works effectively with production in plant and office settings, comfortable in typical plant conditions (noise, dust, odors/fumes), and takes ownership to get issues resolved.
What you’ll receive
As part of Nutreco, you’ll be a member of the SHV family, a diverse group of companies with global footprint. Join us and you’ll gain access to a wide network of expertise and global career paths. You’ll also benefit from the backing of one of the world’s largest privately owned businesses, known for its stability and long-term focus.
