We operate through two global business lines: Skretting, a leading provider of advanced aquafeed solutions driving sustainable aquaculture, and Trouw Nutrition, a specialist in animal nutrition focused on improving livestock health and productivity. Headquartered in Amersfoort and active in more than 30 countries, Nutreco is supported by a diverse Legal and Ethics & Compliance (E&C) team of around twenty professionals who manage our legal risks and the E&C program and protect Nutreco’s reputation.

The Legal and E&C team includes eight BU Lead Counsels who report to the Global Director Legal and E&C and the Global Director Corporate Legal and M&A, and a number Counsels located in different jurisdictions reporting into the BU Counsels. This position will report to the BU Lead Counsel Asia, who is based in Bangkok (Thailand).

This position is based in Hyderabad (India). As Legal and E&C Counsel for our operating companies in India, you will manage the Legal risks and the E&C program for Skretting India, Trouw Nutrition India and Eruvaka, and in coordination with the BU Counsel Asia be involved in investigations concerning these companies.

About The Role

• Responsibilities

• Provide clear and timely legal and E&C advice and support to our Indian entities.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts with strong attention to risk management, and contribute to the maintenance of the contract management system.
• Contribute to the development, monitoring and implementation of Legal and E&C policies, procedures and templates.
• Deliver training on Legal and E&C topics.
• Monitor compliance with E&C policies.
• Manage outside counsel when necessary.
• Maintain structured reporting to the BU Asia Lead Counsel, demonstrating transparency and consistency in monitoring compliance with laws, regulations and Nutreco’s policies.
• Participate in the management team of the General Manager of the Indian companies (upon request).

Skills and Expertise

• Qualifications
  • Law degree from a reputable university.
  • India licensed lawyer or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally with a major law firm and/or within the legal or compliance function of a multinational company.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, competition law and corporate law. Knowledge of data protection or feed law is an advantage.
  • Strong affinity with E&C, with willingness to further develop expertise in this area. Experience as an E&C Officer is an advantage.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex matters clearly, concisely and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of India’s evolving legal landscape, particularly in commercial law, cross-border transactions and data privacy.
  • Fluent in English.
