Selko Shift Supervisor/Team Leader (3pm-11:30pm)

ALL IN A DAY’S WORK

Do you have experience in an Agro-Feed mill? We’re counting on your experience and expertise to maintain a positive culture and work ethic, and to keep our operations on track.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervision and People Management: Plan and coordinate the work of your team. Lead, coach and train production staff
• Determine production priorities in collaboration with the Production or Plant Manager.
  • Check with Maintenance, to align production activities with planned and unplanned maintenance
  • Set schedules for incoming raw materials and ingredients, in conjunction with the Purchasing / Supply Chain / Warehousing, to maintain proper inventory levels
• Quality / HSE Compliance: Ensure the team follows all safety, quality standards and plant policies, including all housekeeping schedules to maintain the plant at Nutreco standards
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures in order to prevent / avoid any incidents
  • Signal potential hazardous situations, take appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
• Reporting: Maintain the required production monitoring systems and reports, so that an adequate insight in production status is available at all times.
  • Monitor daily and weekly KPI’s and work in conjunction with the Production Manager to reach the set targets
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the achievement of target objectives, leads Problem solving Groups in a structured approach

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

• 5 to 7 years of experience in team leadership and in a production environment
• Experience working in a Feed Mill or manufacturing environment preferred
• Have you worked on Automation? Augers? Gear boxes? VFDs? Familiar with elevator legs? Equipment such as Forklifts, Bobcats, Frontend Loaders?

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA

• Demonstrate leadership, autonomy and have good judgment
• Have a good knowledge of computer and of the Office suite (Word, Excel)
• Have experience with continuous improvement tools: Kaizen, 5S, etc. will be considered an asset

• Positive work attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail. Willingness to learn

GOOD TO KNOW

• Must be able to lift 50lbs; and ability to regularly bend and twist.
• Occasional requirement to work at heights, open and close lids
• Often exposed to loud sounds, distracting noise levels, and dusty environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s licence
